How long do drugs stay in my system? Court ordered drug test.

First, you should not be doing any illegal drugs. Period. If you have a prescription, you should talk to your prescribing doctor about all of the possible side effects and effects if you combine other drugs or alcohol. You might be used to your prescription but they may have an entirely different effect when combining the two.

There is more than one type of drug test...There is the commonly known "pee test" that many employers use for job applicants. There are also more through tests that require a blood draw and or use of the hair follicle. Blood and Hair tests tend to provide a longer history. The following are general times and should not be relied upon.

Alcohol

  • Urine: 3-5 days
  • Blood: 10-12 hours
  • Hair: Up to 90 days

Marijuana

  • Urine: 7-30 days
  • Blood: about 2 weeks
  • Hair: Up to 90 days

Amphetamines

  • Urine: 1-3 days
  • Blood: about 12 hours
  • Hair: Up to 90 days

Methamphetamines

  • Urine: 3-6 days
  • Blood: 24-36 hours
  • Hair: Up to 90 days

Cocaine

  • Urine: 3-4 days
  • Blood: 1-2 days
  • Hair: Up to 90 days

Heroin

  • Urine: 3-4 days
  • Blood: Up to 12 hours
  • Hair: Up to 90 days

LSD

  • Urine: 1-3 days
  • Blood: 2-3 hours
  • Hair: Up to 3 days

MDMA

  • Urine: 3-4 days
  • Blood: 1-2 days
  • Hair: Up to 90 days

Another of my biggest accomplishments in an injury case was procuring a several hundred thousand dollar settlement for my 14-year-old client who suffered a knee injury during an after school athletic program. I was able to get all interested parties to set aside funds for the client's college fund in case his athletic scholarship was affected. I am constantly attending Continuing Legal Education seminars to stay up to date on any changes in the law that might affect any of my clients.
